An interview
Aug. 12th, 2003 06:55 pm1. What is your favorite thing? Not like "my PS2" (though that would be tempting for me if I had one!).. but stuff like, for example, "a long drink of water after spending half a day totally dehydrated." Think of the things in that one song from "The Sound of Music". Stuff like that.
2. What's the one thing you regret most about doing/having done to you/etc. in your life?
3. If you could be any animal, extinct or not, for a certain amount of time, what would you be and why?
4. What is your favorite food and describe it ENTIRELY. Give me what it looks like, smells like, feels like, tastes like, sounds like.. and give me a memory associated with it. Did your grandma always give you this food on Wednesdays? Is it ethnic food from your country of birth? .. and so on.
5. What is your very first memory and why do you think it is significant?
1) My favorite thing.. is.. *thinks quietly* Being Loved. After busting my ass at work and doing so much and someone comes over and says good job, or thank you. Or just coming home and getting online and having someone say something positive is one of my favorite things to experience. .. does that count?
2)Uh.. the one most thing I regret happening.. that I had the power to prevent?.. uhm.. Not being more talkative in school. Not hanging out, joining teams, experiencing more of the highschool thing. Not getting to know people, making more friends, not that I NEEDED more friends, but still, knowing people is good.
3)If i could be any animal.. hm.. That's hard. tricky question.. I'd love to fly, but a bird's life is dangerous. I'd love to be able to dive deep deep down into the ocean and rub my belly on the bottom (wriggles brows) but I don't know if I'd like ONLY doing that.. or being hunted for my skin. ow. I'd love to be a dolphin but people bother them too much. I'd be like "... go away... I'll bite you." Butterflies are helpless to the breeze. Snails are eaten... and slow. Dogs, cats and otherwise domesticated animals are caged. I don't like being cagged. If I was an animal...
I think I'd be a cameleon. So I could hide.
4)Favorite Food. Rice. I like Rice. Fried rice rocks my world, Black beans and rice make me happy for days.
Rice. Depending on how it's cooked it could be soft or thick, spicy or bland. A multitude of jumbled piles of grains clutching one another amongst the spices or beans or vegetables. I don't believe rice smells... but if freshly cooked and laid in your plate you can lean your face over it and let the warm steam envelope your face and hug you close. Black Beans and rice.. I guess Cubans Dig blackbeans and rice. I do. *Kiss me I'm cuban!* I like rice. Even though it's tried to kill me on many occasions. Last night for example. Clinging to my throat stubbornly before slipping off and laughing it's way down my esophogus. ... I still love my rice. Relativly cheap and able to be cooked so many ways, rice should be everyone's buddy.
5) Ok.. My frist memory. My first memory is living upstairs from my grandma's house with my mom and dad, when they were still together (Obviously). I was real young.. under 5 and I remember running away though I'm not sure why. I went down the black, cast iron stairs that went in a tight circle ouside the house and up the back porch to my grandma's slidding glass back door, Opened it and looked her her big collie, Known to be as OggieDoggie (no idea). I climbed ontop of the dog and 'rode' him to my grandma's bedroom. I got on the foot of my grandma's bed with Oggie and curled up around him and fell asleep. No one realized as far as I'm told that I was gone. My grandma cooked me breakfast and my dad came downstairs to eat and found me there eating already.
I guess it's significant because it was the first time I tried to get away from my family... even though I don't remember WHY I was trying to get away from them, then.
